Well, I dunno if i told you I was in a poetry contest, sort of like american idol to figure out the best poet out of a group of people on a website. Well, turns out, I won!
LOL yes indeedy I did, and that makes me feel great. I felt I worked hard on them and it paid off because I beat everyone in the end. All the contestants did great though the competition was difficult. Not saying im best in the world, but on that site, I was best out of that lot! :D
what a great achievement right now! So I am here showing you the poems, if you feel they suck, that is fine. However, no one is taking these! they belong to me! RAwr! :D lol
There were 2 weeks of team games omitted from this because it reflects a team effort and not necessarily my own work. So this is the start of the final four weeks.
Hope you enjoy.

NightTime
When night time falls I hear the shouts
of people in the streets.
The drunks, the crazies
they all come out to play.
Through my window sirens heard
police, ambulances, fire engines
and in my dark room only
imagination can tell night times true story.
The silent shadows marked across pavement
will be my reporters of dark deeds committed by
seedy people of impure intention.
Alley cats will be my voice as I slumber.
"HEY, Down here follow me" I would
as my eyes close to awaken in daylight.
night will pass by and all untold stories
will disappear along with my reporters and voice
The Coffee House Poet
Poet
beneath the light you stand
you're in command
you're in demand
No, your word's aren't bland.
Poet
The artful words flow
you start the show.
Speaking what you know
with rhythm you go.
Poet
the issues you share,
to us unaware
you've captured our stare.
I'll aspire to be there one day.
Old Man And His Gin
There once was a man drinking gin
who drank in the park as he sinned
when meeting a nun
he thought he'd have fun
So he gave her the finger and grinned
Kicked Back Rush
Carry the burdens away
Tranquil, Relaxed, Unwind, stay.
Don't leave sacred peace today.
Watch the world quickly hurry
Time slips by in a fury
Silence! Hush! vision blurry.
Careful now step into pace
keep sight sharp your in the race
sped up thoughts mind gone to space
Moving too fast, no control
Can't keep up life takes its toll
Not a cake walk, not a stroll.
Should have stayed inside at home
within four walls all alone
laid back, kicked back not to roam.
Better Off Than You
Living in luxury, heated pools
stretch cars, hollywood movie stars.
Palmtrees over head, chauffered around
in your limo.
Eating off gold plates, in mansions.
Bedroom after bedroom, room after room
draped in satin and velvet money is
no object for you.
Undress your money coated skin
your talented voice and presence.
Everything invisioned as wealth, held
together by your dress and accessories.
Awaken in the day, brush your teeth,
comb your hair breakfast awaits starlight.
Bacon, eggs, toast. You eat what I like,
no different than me.
I sing as you do, in my bathroom
infront of that mirror. I have my fan
as he stares out at me, always there.
My reflection.
And as you, star struck movie tycoon
have your days of fun and laughter.
I rejoice too in my day without care
of what I do.
The Room
Eyes narrowed darting back and forth, scared
within this room, walls of white padded
protection cover the interior. Body
shivers from fright, echos
of laughter break free
surrounding my ears.
Breath quickens.
Sweat pours.
Giggles.
arms
bound
twitch
you
are
crazy
Holiday Poem
Christmas,
I love
the sparkling lights
that cover my tree.
Blessed.
Ice Tempest
Chilled winds sting the skin.
Snowflakes twirl against the sky.
Welcome winter storm.
My Mentor My Saviour
Offer your words of wisdom,
teacher of mine spill your thoughts.
Tell me where you will be and where you come from.
Make me the product, unravel lifes knots.
Beneath your wings I sit fearless
knowing that you will protect me.
your experiences I value without stress,
following what is right and wrong to be.
Mentor, you encompass my life,
I look up to you as my role model.
When you are not near that emptiness is like a knife.
The alone feeling is felt like hell.
That fire beneath earth that burns the skin.
Don't leave my side, come back and stay.
Master my world will crumble, life will cease to begin.
As you turn your back now, I watch you walk away.
Left to my own free will, pushed from the nest
To live on my own without my guide.
I will unravel and relearn all the rest.
Hope will be on my side.
The Wonders Above and Beyond
O blivious to the infinit, boundless,
U ncharted land. Staring up at
T he childhood wonderment of dark skies.
E ventually as the sun sets, the stars
R emain the visions of dreams and wishes.
S earching the heavens for life beyond ours.
P lanets remain further than our vision
A llows us to see. Yet we remain fixated, facinated,
C ompletely in awe of lands we can only imagine.
E nter into outerspace.
Untruthful Stay
Oh Baby I
just wanna tell you why
I don't have a clue
when it comes to you.
You
kinda make me feel
that you haven't been real
tellin' me your hearts been true.
I can't
figure out what's right.
When we scream and fight,
when that love fly's out of sight.
You're kiss
is as cold as ice.
It's the warmth that I miss
and the things that I sacrifice
For you.
So you sneak around, tell me
what I wanna hear.
Weaving your coils around my limbs.
It is suffocating. I just wanna let you go.
I just wanna let you go
Please go, please go.
Just stay.

Pride In Difference
Under the blessed moon I feel
primative urges released, surprised
by the control I fall under.
Voodoo
urged on by
the thunder erupting as
my hands beat the steady
drum against my palms.
Respecting that unknown
force, giving up my shell
of exsistance to walk
amongst the dead.
I am privledged.
Trance filled eyes
void of myself, I release the voice
of another, possessed, blessed;
this is my humble religion
respected.
Mermaid
Blue waves soar above my head
drowning my thoughts of destruction,
replacing the void with calm tranquility.
Seemingly, this paradise beneath earth
is untouched and unknown. I believe
I'm home.
Unseen to your eye, there I am
in myth and legend. Gaurdian of
the depths bare chested and open.
Scaled dress of sea green adorn
the body I've been blessed with.
Mermaid.
Golden hair, billowing amongst
pastelled blue and white shadows.
Calling upon the lost ships at sea
a voice soothing to broken hearted
sailors lost above my sky. I call
to you.
Blessed Childhood
I remember, when I was small.
The laughter in the park,
home before dark,
coming into the hall.
Greeted by protective hands.
Engulfed in a warm hug,
shoes on the rug
gazing where my mother stands.
Naive from dangers at night.
tucked into bed
stories were read.
Slumber without a fight.
If others were lucky like me,
to feel that loved
without being shoved.
Protected in my family.
The backyard window
Clear glass, wide and thin
sets the picture of the day
and night. Ever changing
scenes from season to season.
No artist can recreate my
living artwork free to my eyes
vision.

The Over Confident Finale
Fear me now, I'll show you how
the fight of three, will come to be.
I'll knock them out, the final bout,
I'll fight with words, it's not absurd.
They call themselves poets,
When I step up, they don't even show it.
Their style's the same
They lack the focus to switch up their game.
Now hear my voice, you have no choice,
I'm speaking loud, Stance tall and proud.
The words just stuttered, the judges muttered.
My knees fall weak, dimmed eyed and meak.
This lump in my throat
forms deep inside, neck tense, I choke.
My rhythm stumbles,
trying to push past, my tongue fumbles.
The sweat and work to impress has faded
my face red and shaded.
soon the words fall quiet,
the room darkens
the ride has ended,
and I am left
over confident.
Southern Summer Showers
Refreshing rain pours
against the tin roof, tapping.
Lightning strikes the ground;
erupting in a brilliant display
of vision. As my eyes become
stimulated to the natural phenomena
my ears attune to the rolling
thunder in the distance. Inching
its way over the hills from the north
the first summer storm is upon
us.
The clouds of dust from my southern
home are tamed now into pools of mud.
Relief from the sweltering sun is welcomed.
Cacti and flowers rejoice in the cool breeze
and shower. The tumbleweeds which frolliced
with the wind have now tired and grown heavy.
The wind finds its new playmates, the water droplets,
ontop of my rusted tin roofed haven as they splatter
against my window pane.
Talk Show Drama
All the times you told me
"Stay, we'll make it work."
All the times you told me
"I was the biggest jerk."
All the times you showed me
what it would be like when I leave.
All the times you showed me
the moments you deceived.
I finally found the courage
to leave you in the end.
I finally found the courage
it's something we can't mend.
Infront of cameras you told me
"You may not be the dad."
Infront of cameras you told me
"Please! just don't be mad."
and on this stage you crushed me
as millions watched my cries.
and on this stage you crushed me;
my kid's the other guys.
Blind Conversations
All this talk.
Long, drawn out
blah blah blah.
I'm sick and tired of hearing
that droning onslaught
of words that are pumping
into my ears!
And as you continue to speak
my mind wanders into your
life, as I ask myself
Did you brush your teeth
this morning?
Or even if you realize
that the your nose twitches
when you purse your lips to speak.
"Oh what? You were speaking?"
"I forgot. What were you saying?"
Ah yes, the drone continues
and I slip into my world
again.
What's the name of your
best friend and do you plan
on getting that mole removed?
As it bounces infront of my eyes
your words become faded like
my sight. As colours play together,
blending your face into a picasso
painting. You stop to check that I am here.
"What? Yes I am paying attention."
I am paying attention to
my thoughts about you.
Where you came from
and if you ever rolled
down a hill. Would you do it
again now that you are older?
My eyes fixate on the clock.
I had to be somewhere
The conversation draws on,
one sided, of course.
I leave your side as
you continue to speak.
You won't know the difference
because you are
blind.
Living LifeLess
Into the darkness, twilight feared.
Nocternal creature, morning neared.
Surviving in the midst of night.
Humans terrorized into fright.
A symbol of romance, skin so pale,
sharpened teeth, those marks don't fail.
Sinking gently into place,
the warmth, the flow of blood will race.
Blackened vision, life has left
and in replace immortality has swept.
A gift, a curse, has now passed on,
I'm one of you, I'll fear the dawn.
Lifeless, breathless, yet I still walk
and just like you, it's humans I stalk.
Living lifess amongst all of you
until I strike, you'll have no clue.
Relentless drought
Barren wasteland singed
beneath the scorching hot sun.
Unforgiving drought.
Good Night News
Seperate what's wrong and right.
These unbiased eyes seek truth
in a world of media lies and hoaxes.
Words of he said and she said,
of third party witness stories.
Give me once upon a time,
as I open the newspaper
and flip on my television.
Surround me in tales of fear
and heros, princesses in distress
and dragons. War, crime,
grandeur stories of fame
turn into King Arthur
And The Knights Of The Round
Table. Lulling my imagination to sleep.
These news stories dull my senses
and numb my imagination
into believing their truth.
Bed time stories
of the 11 o'clock news.
Hope you enjoyed!
