Clipped
Last month, we finished watching season 4 of The Wire (we'll start watching s5 tomorrow). But it's on TV ATM (right ATM, in fact), and since I'm a junkie, I thought I'd watch it again. Unfortunately, though, there was a problem: the show had been clipped - broadcast in some widescreen format which means that a) everything looks oddly distorted, while b) things are clearly cut off at the edge of the screen (and sadly, flicking the TV into widescreen mode didn't help). Maybe this is going on with all broadcast TV now - I don't know; I watch so little of it (just the news and the odd cooking show). But its bloody irritating, and yet another reason to turn my back on broadcast entirely and go completely on demand.
