APPROVES OF
Zuko [Avatar: the Last Airbender]
At the very first, Zuko seemed like a brat. But it became quite clear very quickly that Zuko is more along the lines of a disillusioned and yet almost stupidly idealistic Heraldic Trainee from an aristocratic background than anything else. It's hard for Alberich not to be seriously pinged by that, and want to look out for someone of that type. It subsequently became clear that they have some strong similarities in background, which increased Alberich's sympathy and respect for Zuko by a great deal.
In spite of how little they really know each other, Alberich is truly glad to see Zuko's recent ascension to Fire Lord, and he's actually a little proud. But it makes him a touch sad as well, both because he know how much work Zuko has cut out for him and because it brings home how little Alberich can do for Karse.
In Alberich's mind, Zuko is hovering somewhere around "unofficial high-level Trainee" and "unofficial colleague."
Elizabeta Héderváry [Axis Powers Hetalia]
Elizabeta's mix of optimism and practicality put Alberich fairly at ease with her remarkably quickly. Somehow, he actually found himself comfortable talking about himself to her. She strikes him as a woman who is at least as strong as she is kind. He suspects that she was directly involved in the recent war on her world, and would like to ask her more about that at some point.
At this point, he has no idea she's a country.
Katara [Avatar: the Last Airbender]
They've only spoken once, but Katara earns her place up here for her evident hard work and intelligence. It seems pretty clear to Alberich that Katara would fit in with the Heraldic Trainees, or even the Heralds, as well as Zuko would.
ACQUAINTANCES
Setsuna Meiou [Sailor Moon]Miles Edgeworth [Ace Attorney]
Setsuna was one of the first people Alberich encountered on the community, and she made an impression as an intelligent, composed, and helpful woman.
Another one of those who Alberich first encountered. Edgeworth seems to have something of a chip on his shoulder, but he's smart and provides good information.
Ted Mosby [How I Met Your Mother]Cho Hakkai [Saiyuki]
Alberich isn't quite sure what to think of Ted, who clearly comes from a very different world and who seems to treat a lot as a joke. Still, the man isn't bad to talk to, and some of the things about his world are very interesting.
As somebody who is no stranger to misdirection, Alberich is pretty sure Hakkai is hiding something. But he seems a level-headed man, and quite polite. Alberich would appreciate talking to him more.
Ferio [Magic Knight Rayearth]Fuu Hououji [Magic Knight Rayearth]
A boy who seems to have a good head on his shoulders, and who has evidently seen some fighting. Alberich would like to get to know him more.
Fuu seems a bit like a Heraldic trainee, perhaps, but in a way that worries Alberich. While she seems quite caring and smart enough, Alberich is afraid she doesn't really see a lot of how the world and the people in it work.
Gale [Digital Devil Saga]Misato Katsuragi [Neon Genesis Evangelion]
Gale has had it even worse than any Karsite, Alberich thinks. Alberich feels that he recognizes in Gale the kind of person who manages to come to terms with some very painful truths and readjust his world view accordingly. But Alberich is also concerned that Gale's world is still going to break or kill him.
Misato is a fellow soldier. But one who lost her war. She seems a little broken, at best. Alberich would like to do what he can for her.
Japan [Axis Powers Hetalia]
Apparently, the man is a country. That is deeply weird.
But Japan gets points for being quite honest and fairly helpful, in an odd way.
DISAPPROVES OF
Tira [Soul Calibur]
The girl thinks killing is fun, and claims to be addicted to it.
That's more than enough cause for very strong dislike and suspicion, if not quite flat-out hatred.
