I miss you too, Chris. Even if it has only been about two weeks since we've hung out, it's annoying when I want to hang out but you would rather do other things all of the time. I hope the summer doesn't end up like this. I killed my red and green decks and built two new decks, and they have to be played more. I won't talk about the decks here because they'll have to be a surprise. I won't describe them just to leave the element of surprise. I'd like to play you as well, Travis. You've never seen any of my decks, nor have I seen yours! -Steve
I never knew I would be missed so. It makes me feel better about myself. I haven't really been thinking negatively enough to devalue myself, which is a good thing. But I never really thought that I would be important to other people. Not like this at least. 2 weeks is a long time. It has been too long. It isn't that I always would rather do other things all of the time. It can be hard weaving my time with different people. I am trying though. But we will hang out much more. Your decks interest me. I will have to see their capabilities. But we shall see if they can stand the wrath of the power mine already hold. I want to make more decks and stuff, but I lack the mana. Sometime I will get more. And then I will make more surprising scary decks. It is fun doing that. I think you will like some of Travis's decks, they are good. But we shall play, and it will be good.
Hehe, the deck of yours that I am most impressed by is the Dwarf deck. I'm sure I can take it on head-on without problems with all of my decks. I worked with Chuck today to build him a new deck, and it came out really cool. You'll have to see that, too. I got some cards to benefit all of my decks, and I am going to do the proper modifications to them. My decks are one step closer to reaching their intended potential (even though they're already wonderful). I've tested out my new white one, and while it is a very annoying deck, it is nice and effective. 62 cards of glory, just like the others. -Steve
I was wicked surprised when my dwarf deck came out like it did. I wish I had some other cards to help it out further. But it happens to be able to hold it's own very well despite that. I am fairly proud of that deck now. It has made quite the name for itself. I will have to see Chucks new deck as well. How well can he play it? Or is it a fairly out forward deck that he can fully grasp it's strengths? Haha. We shall see the new potential of your enhanced deck(s). But I shall over all rule supreme. Haha.
Hehe, I played it for him a few times to show him how it's supposed to work. It's not as straight-forward as his other decks where he just puts out creatures, but it's not overly complex, either. It does have a good evil combo in it, though : ). I just strengthened all of my decks this morning with the cards I bought yesterday (all from the commons box at That's Entertainment), and now all of my decks are even more efficient. My blue/white has even more damage redirect and damage prevention now, my black can use the evils of Fear and Ninjutsu in addition to the graveyard abuse, my green/red has more mana acceleration and better direct damage, and my new white one has enough annoyances to keep it going. I said I wasn't going to describe my decks, but I figured I'd give you some intel, haha. My white one will remain a secret (however, Chuck knows what it contains).
Chuck told me a little about it. He told me he beat it. He was like, "I was the only person who could beat Steve's deck." I will have to test all of these soon. I also need more mana and stuff for mine. I will have to check and see.
Hehe, he beat my red/green deck once. I only played it four times prior to that, and it happened to be on the day where I won 10 out of 10 games with Joe and Ian. -Steve
Indeed. With my white/blue and black decks becoming rising stars (especially my black as of late), the Beast deck is no longer a giant threat! I played Jason's fungus deck today... in multiplayer, it's scary as hell. My decks are too quick for it in 1 vs. 1 play, but he had 31 31/31 Saproling Tokens in a multiplayer game we played. It was the closest I've ever been to taking 1,000 damage, hahaha. -Steve
Awesome. That sounds scary, the 31 31/31s. Makes me feel like my old thalad deck goes to partial shame :(. However it is not technically my deck. I did not make it or anything. And it is very old of a deck. Do you still consider your white/blue deck to be your best deck?
Hmm, it's very close. My black deck is proving to be just as good as my blue/white deck. My blue/white is still my favorite with its damage prevention, powerful flying, flagbearing, and damage redirect. My black's graveyard abuse, Dross Golems and Ninjutsu, and Pestilence make it cool. There is one card (two more of it) that I really need more of for my black deck to make it what I want it to be, and if that happens, my deck will be very happy. I'll trade any of my cards that are not in my decks for two Binding Agonies! As for my other two decks, they are quite good but not amazing, haha. All of my decks are designed for 1 vs. 1, and that's where they perform best. -Steve
Awesome. What do they Binding Agonies do? Sounds interesting. I want some of those rats that act as pestilences. Most of my decks are made for 1 vs. 1 games. But some of them are designed to hold in multi player games. However I am mostly fond of 1 on 1.
The rats with the built-in Pestilence ability are the Crypt Rats (I have two of them in my black deck). Binding Agony is an enchant creature, and whenever enchanted creature takes damage, its controller loses that much life. I talked to Jason, and there's a new card that's even better than Binding Agony called Ragged Veins (it is the same as Binding Agony but it can also be played as an instant, even the cost is the same). Perhaps I stumbled upon a potent combo of Ragged Veins + Pestilence, hehe. I prefer 1 vs. 1 games. Multiplayer can be fun, but it gets way too chaotic. There are certain formats that work well for multiplayer, but 1 vs. 1 is still cooler, in my opinion. This post has really become the Magic discussion place, haha. Maybe the forum could use such a topic. -Steve
Yeah, it really has. I was thinking about posting something like that in the forum. But I decided it would seem slightly dumb from me, or something? Haha.
