Character: Setsuna F. Seiei
Series: Mobile Suit Gundam 00

Character Age: 16

Canon: Mobile Suit Gundam 00 is set in a world 300 years into the future, where all fossil fuels have been used up, and humanity continues to function via the use of solar energy. It tells the mournful and somewhat dubious tale of Celestial Being, an organisation dedicated to preventing all war on Earth via armed interventions. To do this they use robots called "Gundam", which are a by far sparklier incarnation of the famous mecha.

Piloting the four Gundams are the Gundam Meisters, young men of highly questionable age and sexuality. Setsuna F. Seiei is one of these Meisters. Piloting GN-001 Gundam Exia, Setsuna is a dour, quiet, young man who believes strongly that war can only be stopped by direct confrontation, and is entirely fixated on his goal - to become "the Gundam". This is not as cracky as it sounds - the idea of Gundam is to him a godlike entity representing complete peace, which saved his life when he was ten years old. Setsuna, as with all Gundam protagonists, has a tendency to do extremely stupid things, but has genuine courage along with a healthy helping of arrogance and bad temper.

This is a broadcast on all friendly network channels. This is Setsuna F. Seiei, respond.

It would seem that I cannot make contact. With that being the case, henceforth I will record my mission report as audio to be sent as data at a later date. At 1800 hours, I was progressing over a forest in Louisiana, Union mainland, as according to mission perimeters. Exia received an old-format video transmission containing the following information: a set of instructions from an unknown source. The specification was an intervention at an armed altercation in the forest below. The entity who sent the information confirmed that a lack of intervention would end in a war breaking out in the district of "Camp Fuck You Die", with a death toll of "over 9000". As this was from a source unregistered with Veda, I ignored it. There are certainly no toucan informants that I have been notified of before.

However, directly after the transmission Exia was attacked by an unknown force; lower legs grasped by what I can only describe as tentacles. We were pulled directly downward into a large water source. Once in the lake attempts to free us were made, but Exia's blades were not enough to sever the binds. The creature seemed to appreciate the attention, and it performed an assessment of Exia's structure, seemingly trying to find some form of entryway in any of the apex points. There was no way to access Exia's interior, and I have not yet found out why it was trying. During its endeavours I received a message, presumably from Veda, containing an old video file containing a middle-aged man doing a shoulder-shuffling dance to the sound of an extremely old pop song. I don't know who "Rick Astley" is, but I can think of a few things he should give up.

--Hm? It seems the creature in the lake is losing interest. There will be time to resurface Exia and escape - with what has happened in mind, it can only be safe to think that there is a military exercise happening in this area. The ... toucan told me as such. He referred to it as an armed altercation, so I am sure it won't be difficult to find -- in fact, according to Exia's sensors there is a gathering of human lifeforms one point five kilometers to the west. No mobile suits are appearing on the radar, but there's no harm in my going to look. It's only a short walk - although these trees are hardly conducive to easy walking in a Gundam. They are somewhat clingy. I could have sworn that one moved.

Ah. The site of the battle. ... This is unusual. I wasn't aware they'd actually use their arms to fight. The Exia was not designed for combat with unarmed men, no matter how grey or legless they might be, even if they are literally unarmed - I've never seen limbs used as bludgeoning tools before. I would rather not see it again. But, looking at it, this is clearly war. The thing we of Celestial Being were established to prevent. If these creatures are going to mindlessly gnaw upon each other, then I must act; if I am to become Gundam, then I cannot stand aside and watch a war going on, no matter what the scale. The only solution is to have Exia take a few steps forward.

I will become Gundam; an entity of pure peace. If this means cleaning rotten limbs from Exia's feet, then that is a trial I must undertake.
