For my World History class, your first test of the second quater will be tomorrow. I want to get this done before the holiday comes upon us and there is no time to fret about it during the week of rest and vacation. I do not think any of you would remember most of the information and you would be asking me for a date extension.
The test will comprise of short essays and two essays. Out of the two essays you pick only one.
Test outline:
Part one: You will be given a name of a person, place, or event and you will have to describe to me in a sentence or less what, where, or meaning of the noun you will be given. I want full, complete sentence structure. There will be ten, two points each.
Part two: Short answer. There will be a brief question relating to a topic we covered in class and during discussion. This would be a section where I say it is wise to use your notes. There will be ten short answers worth six points each. Again, full and complete sentence structure please. Also, I will only take a few points off for misspelling of things that I would also find difficult, such as names and places, etc. Theses sort of questions I am extremely lenient on for answers, but please do try to give the correct answer.
Part Three: This is the part with the two essays; each will have something pertaining to the first chapter. You only do one of them, please, and I want a good three paragraphs for each which will result in twenty points. Again, essays give you room to do what you wish and write what you like so long as you stay on topic. You falter from topic, you will lose points.
In other news, not pertaining to school or testing, I did have the pleasure of being able to see Macbeth this weekend. It was wonderful as always, also Hamlet the following day. It was also, as I may say, wonderful. I picked up a few books of plays and sonnets if anyone in the English department would like to borrow them for a few days to teach a class with.
