Background info on your character:
Anya was born around 860 AD, and was originally named Aud (sounds like 'odd'). When she caught her boyfriend cheating on her, she used a spell to turn him into a troll. This caught the attention of a demon named D'Hoffryn, and he offered Aud a job as a vengeance demon. Aud accepted, and D'Hoffryn renamed her Anyanka.
Vengeance demons have the power of The Wish. They can sense when someone wants revenge and will feel drawn to their location. When the person makes a wish out loud ("I wish ..."), the vengeance demon can make their wish come true, no matter how impossible it may sound. Anyanka decided to specialize in providing vengeance for women who had been wronged by men. For over a thousand years, she 'brought ruin to the heads of unfaithful men' all over the world. (She may have been partially responsible for the Russian Revolution, but that's another story.) Anyanka would appear as a human and talk to a woman, gradually guiding her into expressing a wish for vengeance. She sees it as helping the wronged woman get what she truly wants. And if what she wants is death and destruction, no problem, the bloodier the better.
As a vengeance demon, Anyanka is very strong and almost indestructible. (A sword in the chest will incapacitate her briefly, but doesn't kill her.) She can also teleport. Anyanka usually appears human, but she can also change at will to her vengeance demon form, which is much more demonic looking. It doesn't seem to matter which form she wears, except for changing to demon form at the moment she grants a wish.
One day, Anyanka visited Sunnydale California, to grant a vengeance wish to a girl named Cordelia. Cordelia's boyfriend had cheated on her, but instead of wishing for something to happen to her boyfriend or the "other woman", Cordelia blames a girl named Buffy Summers for the whole situation. She wishes Buffy had never moved to Sunnydale, and Anyanka grants her wish, changing history and reality into an AU version of itself. Only Cordelia is aware of the change.
Unfortunately for Cordelia and Sunnydale, Buffy is the Vampire Slayer, and without her, Sunnydale is a town ruled by the vampires. Cordelia is killed, but not before she passes on enough information for Rupert Giles, Buffy's would-be Watcher, to figure out that reality itself has been changed. He discovers that the pendant of a necklace he had taken from Cordelia's dead body is the symbol of a demon named Anyanka (also known as the 'patron saint of scorned women'). He learns that the wish she granted can be undone by destroying her power center. Giles realizes the pendant could be Anyanka's power center.
Although Anyanka attempts to stop him, Giles destroys the pendant, and everything in Sunnydale returns to the normal timeline. Everything except for Anyanka, who discovers to her horror that she is now trapped in the form of a teenage girl, and she has been stripped of her vengeance powers.
After a thousand years as a demon, Anyanka, now calling herself Anya, has a lot of trouble adjusting to being human. Since she's only 17 in human years, she has to go to school, do homework, and she can't even get served in bars. She tries to convince D'Hoffryn to make her a vengeance demon again, but he refuses, since it was her own fault her power center was destroyed. Eventually, Anya seems to resign herself to being human. She becomes part of the group that helps Buffy Summers defend Sunnydale from the monsters.
Unused to human social customs, Anya often embarrasses her friends with her complete lack of tact and her tendency to say whatever is on her mind. She doesn't understand why talking about sex is not polite, or why you might have to be nice to someone you don't like. Her sense of right and wrong is slightly off center. She can't tell a joke to save her life. Even though she is powerless as a human, she still has an almost encyclopedic knowledge of various types of demons, including their weaknesses, which is often very useful to Buffy. After they graduate from high school, Anya gets a job working for Giles at his magic shop, and discovers she has a head for business. But as hard as she tries to fit in, Anya still feels like an outsider.
Anya was dating Buffy's friend Xander (ironically, he is the "cheating boyfriend" she came to Sunnydale for in the first place), and they eventually fall in love and get engaged. However, when the wedding day arrives, Xander realizes that he really isn't ready to get married. He breaks the news to Anya at the altar, and then runs away. Anya is heartbroken, and later receives a visit from D'Hoffryn. He offers her the job of vengeance demon again and Anya accepts.
Anya is determined to make Xander pay for hurting her, but a vengeance demon cannot grant a wish for herself. She talks to Xander's friends and tries to influence one of them to make a wish against him, but she is unsuccessful. Eventually she gives up on her revenge, and she and Xander manage to work out a very strained friendship.
After living as a human for so many years, Anya has a lot more trouble dealing with the death and destruction she often causes when she grants a wish. Unfortunately, being a vengeance demon isn't the kind of job you can just quit. Finally she decides she can't do it anymore, and she asks D'Hoffryn to undo a wish that killed several people. D'Hoffryn asks if she is willing to pay the price, and Anya agrees, expecting to pay with her life. Instead, D'Hoffryn kills Halfrek, Anya's vengeance demon friend, and takes away Anya's demonic powers.
Human again, Anya goes back to helping Buffy's group, and she and Xander eventually reconcile some of their differences. Not long after that, Anya dies in a battle against yet another evil power trying to destroy the world.
Also, what they were doing when they got pulled to the island, any relations with anyone else? Etc)
Anya arrives on the island right after she died. (But she's going to be a vengeance demon again, because it's just more fun that way.)
The only person on the island she would know is Spike. (Spike the vampire, not Bebop Spike.)
Sample post:
Ow! ... Oh. Well that was quick.
How pretty! I didn't expect heaven to look like Hawaii. No wonder Buffy didn't want to leave. But shouldn't there be more angels on clouds or something? Or maybe it isn't heaven. I didn't really expect to end up there anyway, and it is rather warm here... No, it's too nice to be hell. Well, where ever this is, it's better than being sliced up by evil, eyeless, tongueless guys. I wonder how it ended?
Was it really necessary to send this sword with me? Hmm, that's odd. My pendant shouldn't be here. I wonder if that means... oh! So I'm a demon again? I didn't expect that. Then maybe I can teleport... Apparently not. What kind of afterlife is this?
This is very confusing. There should be a welcoming committee or something. Hello? Is there anyone here?
A list of things your character might have on them after they got snatched up and put on this island:
Just her vengeance demon pendant, and the sword she was holding when she died.
