My friend called a very polite Hispanic man a dirty Mexican.
I like my grandparent's doberman more than I like my own dog, and most humans, for that matter. Yesterday, my grandfather took it to the vet because it didn't feel well, but it turned out he was fine, and he was eating too many apples! Today, it ate birdseed and died.
My co-worker's sister is dying of leukemia, and her church is doing a fundraiser for the family. The mother and the child are going to a hospital at Duke University for four months so she can have a bone marrow transplant. Somebody put up a flyer from the church to allow people to know about the cause. A customer came up today, and looked at the poster, shaking her head. She said "I can't believe they're doing that to that poor baby. That's terrible parenting right there. I had a friend who's kid had the same thing, and it died anyway, and they wish they'd never put her through that" ("that" being treatment.) She was arguing that the parents shouldn't do all they could to keep their child alive.
She looked to me for a response, but I was so shocked, I could only muster a "They're probably doing what they think is right" & "You never know what to do until you are put in that situation" & "Have a good night."
I saw Cory, and it made me really miss my friends.
