On Saturday, I got the chance to use some of my power, as the youngest, which can take some skill, over my older bros. It wasn't much to be honest. I mean, I only forced my bros, who are home, to go to my cousin's birthday party over at Riverside, almost 3 hrs away (longer with traffic) 'cause no one else wanted to go in this house! (Theres some family-related issues I don't want to delve in, but, meh, everyone needs a bit of drama in their life....) Also, I pressured my sis to tag along after she had a long-day at work (>=]) How can anyone say no to food, swimming, and more food???
Of course, we were late at the party, 4 hours late to be exact, since my sibs really contemplated if they wanted to go or not. Pfft. All mess aside, the party was fun and we didn't get home 'til 3 am the next morning. Filipino food + ping pong + swimming + night swimming + late-night movie + Wii = WIN! We watched The Exorcist and it was quite scary. It sucks that scenes from it are being ripped by so-called horror movies of today. *sighs* But, watch it with the right crowd, you'll laugh your ass off throughout the film, which pretty much what my cousins and I did. And, I must say, Carvel Ice Cream Cake is the best ice-cream cake I've ever had! It's practically the official birthday cake of the family. So good!
On Sunday, nothing much happened. Was pooped from the night before and still full from all the food I ate. =/ Anyway, my mom, sis, and I watched Julie & Julia. But during the previews, I had a hunch that a particular trailer would come up, but wasn't entirely sure if it will. Fame, The Time Traveler's Wife, The Lovely Bones, and then BOOM! Guess what trailer came on? The trailer that many people have been drooling and excited about for the past several days since it's release on Thursday? The trailer that many people, 'specially gals, are really, REAALLY looking forward to?? Can Christmas come any sooner?! Please? Yes, the trailer of It's Complicated. It looks so good on the big screen! Even if it was only the trailer, I still got a taste of how it'll be come Christmas time. The Baldwin, The Streep, and Steve Martin. I really want to watch it and I believe its going to be the first Alec Baldwin film I'll see in theatres. *glee*
I'll join in with everyone in posting this trailer =D
Anyway, back to the film, Meryl Streep was lovable as Julia Child. I've seen a couple of episodes of The French Chef and Meryl's portrayal was uncanny. Also, Amy Adams was adorable as usual. There was many LOL moments, and mostly they came from Julia's storyline, which is the story that stood out the most. Overall, great film. :)
Oh and today, bought UNO cards and Jenga for my sheer boredom. 31 stories, booyah!
(It took me about an hour to type this because I think I've slightly sprained my right hand from playing tennis, which is wrapped on a brace atm. And yes, this post is my current feat of the week.)
