My first real blog.
Earlier today, my mom decided to use a bug fogger since little tiny fruit flies started to get cozy in our house. 2 hours of house evac so went to church and the beach. Also, almost cursed at an usher at church. *sighs* But the home is fruit fly free! At least I think it is...
Anyway moving on to some things that happened in the first half of my summer. I celebrated my birthday at Disneyland 'cause I got in for free. Got the chance to go to the LA Film Festival: watched an advanced screening of Paper Heart and met Charlyne Yi, Mike White, and John C. Reilly, who was the one person in the audience that had the distinguishable laugh. Awesome! (pics are somewhere in the comp). Went to a live taping of The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien (it was fun and that's one thing off my 'must-list') and Zooey Deschanel was one of the guests so that was a plus! Red Velvet Cupcakes from Sprinkles are my new food-love. Tried Sake for the first time, liked it, and found out I'm a light drinker. Lastly, Korean bbq buffets ('nuff said).
But time is breezing by a tad quick since August is here. Its kind of bittersweet because that means summer is nearing its end, I'm still unemployed (the damn recession is a pain in the arse and worst of all, I live in a bankrupt state), another year of college is up to stab me once this month is over, and other shenanigans I don't want to list for the sake of my last month of summer.
Though on the upside, some friends up at NorthCal are coming back down here at SoCal (even if it'll only be for a week), Warped Tour 2009, there's still the beach (not a fan of the hot weather though, that's why I might just live at NYC as soon as I have an independent life going), more movie watching, 30 Rock reruns, more other TV shows to watch/catch up, US Open is starting soon (yay for Tennis!), and have some tiny spontaneous adventures.
Also, random thing today. I was having lunch at a sushi place with my family, then a song came on the radio that made me burst out into laughter. The song was Isley Brothers' "Who's That Lady." Yep, the song that cued when Liz walked through the office halls into the writer's room in the dress Ceerie picked out. "I just threw up in my mouth" (Aww Frank). I love that episode. My family watches 30 Rock too, but of course I'm the only one who had that scene replaying back in my mind while the song plays. Ha!
Okay. Thats it! Off to make a banner for this LJ and might just finish that Jack/Liz vid I've been promising myself to finish.
