so i got in a motorcycle accident. AGAIN. this time its more serious and isn't my fault. here...i copied this off my blog on myspace. it happened monday night.
so. yesterday started just as normal as any other day. i woke up at 11 or so. didn't have work 'til 3. i was just lounging around and being lazy. just relaxing before work. i go to work, no big deal. work my 3-close shift. it was a good day for the most part.
so i clock out. say bye to everyone. get on my bike. let it warm up. just sittin around. i went a different way home today than usual. i don't really know why either. but i did. so i turn onto eight mile from trinity parkway and here is the scenario.
there is a turning lane, a middle lane, and a lane to the right. i'm in the middle lane riding along probably going a little faster than the truck in the right lane. then BAM. out of no where i guess the truck wanted to get into the turning lane, starts to merge in front of me and i see this. i had minimal time to react. a thousand thoughts went through mymind at once on how to avoid this. there was nothing i could do. i was about to swing the bike to the left but there were cars and that would be a bad decision. couldn't go right either..i'd hit the truck for sure. so i just try to slow down, i'm not slowing down fast enough..give some more break. bam. brakes lock up. i feel the bike start to slide next thing i know i'm on the ground sliding, my bike is sliding i'm tumbling, rolling not realizing what the fuck is going on. i get up in the middle of the intersection (i slid from the underpass all the way to the middle of the intersection...bad times). i got up as fast as i could and started walking but i was in too much pain so i sat back down. next thing i know there are people everywhere coming to help. it was really amazing actually.
the guy who merged over on me said "sorry, i didn't see you." come on man. then he asked where i was coming from. i came from the same turn as you man. i was in the lane right next to you obviously.
so we make a big scene. i don't know how or how many people, but someone picked up my bike and pushed back to the underpass and put it against the wall. it was there before i even got up.
so the cops were called. someone gave me water. the guy who merged over on me started telling me his story about when he went down on his bike and blah blah blah. and i could really care less the moment. the cop gets there. asks if we are both insured and licensed. well yeah. i have full converage. but i don't have a license -_-
the cop took all of our stuff went to his car and handled his business. he came back and said ok you're both legal, both insured etc. he told me the only problem with me is that i only have a permit. and then he tried to say i had expired tags. i was like "are you kidding me? i just got them" and he was like "oh they are 2007?" i was like "yeah.."
and i guess the cop talked to a witness and the witness said i was getting on it. for those of you who don't know what "getting on it" means, it means i was speeding hella crazy sick like. which isn't true. i was probably going a little faster than the truck. if i was "getting on it" i would have wrecked right into the truck and be worse than i am now. i was probably going around 50mph MAYBE 55. i dunno.
the cop pretty much said that its gonna be tough to judge who is at fault, but yeah. i better get something out of this. i'm about to go to the doctor right now. i woke up feeling massive pain. i can hardly walk. i called in to work. told them the story. so we'll see how much work i really have to miss. hopefully not too much.
the cop sat around for hella long after waiting for the people i called and the tow truck.
now i'm just waiting for my insurance company to call me back to see what the deal is.
ps: i don't have a phone anymore. after the accident i reached into my pocket to make a call..wasn't there. looked in the street and its smashed.
