[Envy's video feed turns on to the sound of very loud, angry, almost frantic shouting and a good view of what seems to be an elbow.]

[China won't get a reply for an hour or two. Envy's sitting up in bed and at least looks calmer. But China might notice small signs of tension and anger underneath the mask, although it's not directed at him, and an odd distance in place of the normal friendliness Envy showed China before.]

I wasn't worried about being hurt, I was just in the middle of something important back home when this place decided to drag me back.

[He pauses at the question, a little more of that unstable anger showing through and then slipping back into hiding under the calm facade.] To the Gate.

I don't know. I hadn't finished crossing when I was pulled here. [He shrugs, frowning and clearly displeased with this.] I'd turned into that dragon, from before. I thought if there was a form that would let me push through, it'd be something like that one.

...yeah. That'd be him. Hohenheim of Light. [There's a sneer in his voice as he says the name.]

I bet you that a dragon would be able to take you through whatever barriers are there, aru. It could probably tear through as though everything else was tissue paper. [Dragons were such powerful creatures after all.]

There'd be a lot to tell, it's been almost a year.

There was a full seven of us homunculi for a little while, but now most of us are dead...or worse. There's been military upheaval. The Philosopher's Stone was created successfully, but I don't know what's going to happen to it now.

[He shrugs, pretending to be unbothered by any of this.] Like I said, a lot.
