Yet more random drabble-ish-ness

Sep 09, 2007 23:09

So, Mom called, and that put off me getting ready and stuff. Totally still haven't watched "HERO", mostly will be done next week end. Instead, decided to stop by Book Off and ended up with six SMAP albums, for about $12.00, I love Book Off, also got a movie that came out last year-ish, with Shingo and the dude from Shall We Dance? and the first SPN Season One DVD for Lizzie. Also hit up the Supermarket for a few things and toliet paper.

Also, picked up my room some more, I still have laundry to put away, but it might be done in the morning, as I want to shower soon, and sleep. And I just realized I forgot to buy new face wash, oh well.

Anyways, this drabble is from a completely different story I have, it's actually from my failed attempt at NaNoWriMo, though it never got this far. It's from "Red Thread" and I think it does give you some insight into the main plot, and a bit about the character.
Ai had mostly mastered not reacting to any of it anymore; of course, all things get easier to do with time. Her newer acquaintances don’t notice how she’ll move her eyes quickly over a magazine cover or train ad, even the occasional hand twitch when an article is shoved under her nose. Others, who had known her before, like her editor, don’t give her that look anymore, that one where they don’t know whether to feel sorry for her or not. It’s when she hears him though, a laugh in a commercial, or a song blasted over the speaker of a karaoke hall, that’s when it gets hard. And if she ever hears that song, like right now, it’s all she can do not to want to run out of the room.
“If I don’t have you
I’m gonna lose my mind
Give me one more chance,
Oh, please understand
If I don’t have you
My heart will surely die.
Please just wait, keep believing in me”
“I know his general image doesn’t fit with the feel of your story, but I think with he’s talent in English, and using a style similar to this song, we could make a song using your lyrics and Nishigawa’s vocals that could be a hit. Also, if we consider the fact that the fan base for you comic over laps with that of Nishigawa-san’s it would definitely generate more buzz for this live action adaptation.” The, whatever his title is, from the movie company stated, trying his best to hide a grin that show how obviously pleased he was at his money making genius scheme. Her editor, Nakamura was giving her a look that obviously was saying ‘you don’t have to agree to this, really; if you refuse I’ll do everything I can to explain it to him in a way that won’t be suspicious.’ Ai truly appreciated his effort to save her what is only going to end up painful and awkward and will probably give her enough angst to fuel a whole new series, but she was no longer a selfish child anymore.
“I think it’s a wonderful idea Morita-san, be sure to tell me when you’ve finalized something with his record company. I’m sorry to cut this short, but I have a meeting with a head in the drama department of Fuji Television over the script I’m working on. If you’ll excuse me please, I’m sure Nakamura here can help you with anything else.” She said slowly raising out her chair and bowing, not meeting Nakamura in the eyes, because she knew exactly what they said right now. After Morita bowed in response she picked up her bag and left the small office. Crossing her way through her studio she greeted all her assistants’ questions of whether or not THE Nishigawa Yuuki is going to be doing the main theme for the live action adaptation of “The Prince Without a Voice’ with a small grin and thumbs up. When the elevator doors finally closes around her she let out sigh that worked its way into a sob. Is she really this much of a masochist? Three years can change a lot, but if it can’t change the fact that she wants to break into tears every time she hears that song, that one she wrote for him, how can she expect to make it through him doing it again?

Also, brownies for anyone who knows which song I stole for that scence. XP
