What I miss.....

is more open and varied discussions in the fandom.
Didn't we use to have more free discussions in the fandom?
Didn't we feel more free to say exactly what we wanted to say?

Being a fan doesn't mean you don't criticize or complain about the artist.
In fact, if you are a fan, you're probably more concerned about the career of the artist and have more things to say about it, good and bad.
Would that annoy GACKT?  I don't know. Maybe, maybe not. But that's what he gets for having passionate fans, and he just needs to live with that.  It's not like he'll ever listen to us anyway.  He'll do exactly what he wants to do, and that's fine by me.

But at the same time, I feel like there are less and less healthy and meaningful discussions in the fandom, or to be more precise, they happen in a more fragmented and/or private way, away from the public eye.  I am not saying that's a bad thing at all, but if that's all that happens in the fandom out of fear of a backlash, etc., then it really saddens me.

As long as we stay respectful toward each other as well as toward GACKT/YFCz/JOB, and as long as we always agree to disagree and not make a discussion into an I-win-you-lose match, we should be able to say more of what's really on our minds, no?

I don't know, this has been bugging me for a long time now.
Is it just me?
