One more... ^^;;;

I'm not sure if my earlier daydreaming illustration was able to express my concern over the integration very well since I got way too carried away with being YOU-kun. XD;;;
So, I'm just going to leave a link to a great post written about this very issue. Please read it only if you're interested.  =3

i agree, on a non-personal based view, it isn't the best idea for ppl as a whole. i mean, communities are for mass posts, and there's a privacy option for a reason. if there's any loop wholes to take that option away, there's no real point in having one to begin with. do i make sense?
a lot of ppl don't take it personally ; i too don't make many posts friends only and what not, but it's the fact of the matter.
i mean i know [i read you're other post getting further into length on this issue] once you post it, that' sit, but it's just a silly mix up it sounds like, and i think it would be a lot more... hm, moral? ethical? idk, just better and sound safer for our reassurance to have those comments as safe as our posts.

EXACTLY!

"just better and sound safer for our reassurance to have those comments as safe as our posts."

I agree.
I can put up with the other new features, but this one really needs to be removed. Or so many users will leave LJ, and the large profit they must've made from the integration won't even be able to compensate for the loss. =/

mmisskriss has a really valid point about communties, I belong to a few that have thousands of members, and if one comment gets inadvertantly posted public, more than one comment can go public as well!

Many coms meet lj regulations when they post over-18 content, and they check the ages of their membership, but when comments go out (many that include links and downloads) there goes the very notion of a com being secure!

Hai, see I am worried for LJ - I luv it; it's all my G needs and so many Dears I know have a lot of fun posting and updating and sharing reports on gigs and stuff. I'd hate to see that go over one silly mistake.

So true, although I don't think that'll happen.
Well, it'd better not happen.
Or we'll summon G, and he'll show them. Yep.
