I should write this out before I forget it. (I guess thats the point of a journal.)
New Years Eve, Eve: I didn't plan on going out, which is maybe why it hit so hard, (man, I get the shivers just thinking about the story) I won't go too detailed, but before we started out in town we finished off a bottle of Southern Comfort, half a bottle of gin and a bottle of Bols Blue. The four of us left for the pub at about 8pm. I don't remember much else but I came back and puked in my sink, and passed out on my bed.
Next morning, I wake up at about 9pm with the Harlem shivers, my head pounding like you can't imagine, and I throw up again, it hurt like childbirth. I had cold sweats and fevered shivers all at the same time. I had to move at about elder sloth speed to keep my body from rejecting everything. so I do the zombie slide to the car to head to Scotland. Its me and two other guys we're driving to the train station, the driver offers some Tylenol, so I take a couple. about five minutes later, I throw up again, although the only thing that comes up is water, since thats all I had in my stomach. I threw up and it wasn't even noon yet, yes, thats what kind of day this was turning out to be. we were driving down the road and I opened the car door and splash, like I was emptying a cup of water. then about thirty seconds later, the next gallon comes up.
New Years Eve: On the train there I start to feel a little better while we play some cards, I can actually stomach some Subway. We get to Edinburgh Scotland and have a great time, lots of great people there, the Scotch are the friendliest people in the world especially when they're drunk. I can't say enough good things about Edinburgh, everybody's willing to share their drink with you, or even share a kiss with you, its a beautiful place. We took in the New Year with the castle all lit up and fireworks going off and the Scissor Sisters playing.
New Years Day: This is where we messed up: no hotel. Hogmanay in Edinburgh Scotland means that every hotel is sold out. I don't know what you've heard about Scotland, but here's the truth: its cold and windy. So we walked around town for about 4 hours waiting for the train station to open up, then we sat in the train station for another couple hours waiting for our train to arrive. We made it back at about noon, and I slept for about 23.5 hours straight, I only got up two or three times to drink some water and pee. One time I got up to find my glass, and I opened my eyes, and they started burning like someone had sprayed me with pepper spray, they stung and started watering. I laid back down after that in resignation. Thats all I had the energy for. My body said, no way dumbass, no more. I'm still recuperating.
