. FALL 2013: THANKSGIVING DINNER .
Here is where you sign-up for the THANKSGIVING DINNER!
. EVENT DESCRIPTION .
As November dawns, Thanksgiving draws ever closer. This is a particularly special time of year for you because it is one of your dearest friend's favorite holiday. Your friend waits all year for Thanksgiving and always cooks the best meal possible. This year, however, your friend has come down with a terrible flu and is not able to cook anything. Your friend is very sad about not being able to have a proper Thanksgiving, so you have decided to do your best to help your friend. Unfortunately, you are a dreadful cook, and even if you need make something, your friend is too sick to eat anything other than pepto-bismol, saltine crackers and ginger ale. None the less, you are determined to do something.
You have heard the legends about an old cottage deep in the mountains where a witch lives who makes the most delicious foods around. This witch is not just a good cook; she is a witch after all. Her food is supposed to cure any illness. Determined to make your friend feel better and have a wonderful Thanksgiving meal, you set off on the lonely mountain path to search for the elusive cottage.
After stopping for directions more times than you are willing to admit, nearly getting eaten by a horsefly and dealing with particularly cheeky jackalope along the way, you come to a decrepit cottage tucked under the boughs of a crooked tamarack tree. Nervously you approach the door, its paint cracking and peeling. You stare at the door curiously as you notice that it is one of those where the top and bottom and open separately. Just as you muster up the courage to knock on the door, the bottom half of the door swings inward, and you find yourself staring at a sign as the door slams shut and the lock slides into place. It happened so quickly you were not able to see how the sign got there let alone who put it out. Confused, you bend down to get a good look at what is written there.
Although the cabin is shabby and untended, the sign looks freshly painted. It is a glossy black with sharp, Old English style lettering in white. Around the edges there are flourishes that shimmer and seem to move as if they were painted with quicksilver. Once you stop admiring the craftsmanship, you notice what is written on the sign. It is a menu...? As you look closer, you realize it is not just a menu, but a Thanksgiving menu. "Clever witch," you think to yourself.
- Bread Rolls: For my delicious bread rolls, I demand 3 cards related to food (in either deck name or card image).
- Green Beans: You want green beans, eh? Alright then, 2 cards that are GREEN!
- Pumpkin Pie: Ah, such a staple of the season. As it is such a classic, I want 3 cards whose character's name starts with the letter "P". One for every p in the pumpkin pie.
- Turkey: There is nothing quite like a golden brown turkey. Since it is such a lovely sight, I would like two reddish-brown Rank C certs for my trouble.
- Yams: Yams always made me think of the YMCA. I cannot make you dance, but I can make you spell out Y A M S with the deck names of 4 cards(so a card from a deck beginning with Y, another card from a deck beginning with A, etc. for a total of 4 cards)
