And still there's work...
Work has been ramping up into its ugly glory. Ben, my boss, has been traveling and is now back for awhile, so there's suddenly a lot of activity. It looks like we're going to bring a 45-person team into our organization and this means a lot of work.
I've been working on a number of long-lead-time items that are all coming together soon. So there's a scramble to cross ts and to dot is.
Way back when I was younger and less foolish (like, in December) I agreed to speak at an upcoming conference in mid-May. Well, the presentation was due a week ago and I haven't started it. Yay for procrastination. And apparently I agreed to lead a discussion. I don't remember agreeing to that, but apparently I'm doing it.
Also in mid-May is our extended staff meeting. I will have to generate the slides for that. Together with the conference, I'll be in the Bay Area for almost two weeks which is a lot of time to be away from home. I'll be there over a weekend, which turns out to be Mother's Day weekend. I normally book my hotels about two weeks ahead of time and I just finished that. I'm staying in four different hotels because most hotels are already full up. What a royal pain in the ass.
