i'm guessing this will probably be my last LJ entry from london, since tomorrow will be a mess of packing, cleaning, dragging 50-pound boxes (that's weight, not price) to the post office, and somewhere in between, getting together with fran and possibly with ripton et al as well.
the weather has suddenly turned awesome, which makes it easier to forget that our food and money supplies are slowly dwindling to nothing. fortunately, all i really need is the six pounds to get to heathrow on wednesday.
on saturday night, back from brighton and relieved to be done with another semester, we said, "hey, let's stay in bed tomorrow."
so we did.
today we actually got out and did things, though. i put on sunscreen. we explored kensington gardens and portobello road, even though the market doesn't happen on mondays (even bank holiday mondays). we got smoothies and ice cream. i wore my new flats and didn't get blisters.
for the record, here is a list of sights i did NOT see while in london for four months:
-the british library
-buckingham palace
-the new globe theater
-st. paul's cathedral
-borough market
-kew gardens
-the olympic torch relay
-speed-the-plow
-a football match
there are probably more, but the headache i have developed is preventing me from thinking of them. regardless, i think all the stuff (and people!) i did see more than make up for all the things i didn't see, numerous and significant though they may be.
food now.
london beckoned songs about money
