this entry is not about liverpool

Feb 10, 2008 16:50

so friday we went to liverpool. we got back last night. it was excellent. perhaps i'll put pictures up if i get enough time alone with sweet lady internet.

however, once i got home i reentered the perpetual state of frustration i had been in before i left. this is due to three main problems, the first of which complicates the other two:

1. our internet is broken.
i have no right to complain, since we don't pay for it, but still. (i'm in the computer lab at the london center right now.)

2. i have no housing for next year.
organization is hard, especially when most of the friends you'd like to live with are of the opposite sex and the only type of co-ed housing you can get has an application deadline three days away, AND you can't communicate with said friends because you can't use the internet.

3. i have a lot of homework.
and most of it requires me to use the internet.

this stuff alone, plus the fact that i had to skip all the chinese new year celebrations, had me pretty pissed off when i left the house today. and THEN it took me 105 minutes to get here instead of my usual 45-60.
-i walked to the bus stop.
-after 20 minutes no northbound 49s had shown up, so i got on the 345 to south kensington station. or so i thought.
-at battersea bridge the driver turned off the engines and yelled "LAST STOP!"
-perplexed, i crossed the bridge on foot, next to a huge traffic jam.
-after i lost the trail of the 49's usual route, i discovered that the 19 goes to sloane square. i hopped on it.
-at sloane square i took the tube to gloucester road.
-i walked to the london center.

sigh.

now i have to go, as the center is closing in 2 minutes.

london beckoned songs about money, oy gevald
