i just love rumi. we're studying sufism in my introduction to islam class right now and i'm looking forward to it if only to revisit some of his work.

i like this, but i've read that coleman barks doesn't actually know any persian, so (if true) i think it's pretty misleading for him to call himself a translator, instead of an interpreter or something along those lines. i do appreciate your sharing this and the variety in the poetry that you post though :)
