This is one of my all time favourite poems, and the poem that lead me to Cavafy's poetry. Have you read his poem The God Abandons Antony ?

I really like this. This poem is used as a thematic thread in Robert Dessaix's novel Corfu, a book I highly recommend for anyone into Greek culture, poetry, and/or romance.
