- Only 7 more days till I'm officially unemployed. In some ways I'm glad to be starting a new chapter in my life, and in some ways I'm sad I'm writing the end of this one. Despite pulling out my hair sometimes, I really did enjoy my time at Dell.
- Power went out at the center about a 1/2 hour after I started my shift. Now, as anyone who has worked at a callcenter knows, normally 3rd party providers or 1st party providers alike buy huge mucking generators so that the employees can continue to take calls even if the power is out; heck the generator at my previous place of employment allowed it to stay open in snow storms, hurricanes, and any other forces of nature that threatened the center's SLA. And these generators will kick in the second the power circuit is broken.... well that didn't happen here and we were without power for about 4 minutes before the power popped back on again. First time that has happened since I started working there... interesting it happens in the last two weeks I'm there.
- I was again reminded that I need to get a prostrate exam soon: found out two of my uncles in the Netherlands now have prostrate cancer. And everytime I think of the exam I shutter.
- The rain was hard and heavy today, along with thunder and lightening (see above for one of the results). At least it cooled things down somewhat.
- The wireless internet connection seems to be holding now that I've moved the router from the basement to the 1st floor. I was considering changing a router I had lying around into a repeater till I discovered I owned what has been classified as a "neutered" router that is very hard to hack. Oh well.
And with that I'm going to bed.
