Trish hadn't been able to watch the half-devil walk out of the door without her. It had been a while since they'd worked together on a job and despite Trish's trepidations about her missing powers she actually found herself looking forward to the trek out into the woods as they neared them. She'd never quite felt this way before; her heartbeat quickening, the rush of the adrenaline. Sure, she'd been hyped up on battle before but this time felt different somehow. More...human.

She shook her head to clear her thoughts and focused on her surroundings as they entered the forest. It would do her no good to dwell on her reasons for insisting she "tag along" after Dante, as he put it. Maybe he was worried about her, wouldn't that be sweet. But it was impossible to read the half-devil on a good day, much less any other. She wouldn't hold her breath.

In truth she had to admit she didn't know why she really was here. She wasn't completely like Dante, a white knight with unholy powers, she had never found herself flinging herself into a just cause without abandon. She sat around, thought things through, and if she didn't like the feel of something she didn't go anywhere near it no matter how much it paid. She wasn't interested in the outcome of this expedition, and she damn well wasn't all that concerned about the girl on the end of it. Not like Dante...

But maybe she was a little bit curious, and maybe she did want to just get out, and maybe she did miss the old life just a bit too much. And while she may not have been an utter sap like her partner she did have to confess to herself of a certain pity if not actual sympathy for whoever was out there.

And besides, someone had to watch Dante's irresponsible butt.

She almost started when she heard the gunfire, flock of birds, and then the low voice of Dante urging them forward. Well, why not rush into things. This was what she had looking forward to. Still, she couldn't keep the words off her lips as she saw Dante press ahead so carelessly in front of her. It was an automatic reaction that came about being around him. "Careful, Dante..."
