So I haven't been going to Sunday fight practices lately. Usually I would go with Seth and be social and enjoy watching everyone practice.
I haven't gone in awhile because right now I am dedicating my Sundays to sewing projects. This has been working rather well for me! With Seth out of the house I have no distractions and can just put on my music and get my craft groove on.
I have made myself an apron dress, even though pretty much everyone is wearing them these days. I had some good fabric for it though and didn't want to let it just sit there. That project was finished last weekend and I am quite happy with it. I will take some pictures and post them soon.
This weekend I started on my bog coat, which is also coming along swimmingly. The fabric for it is not particularly period, but it sure looks (and feels) nice. Its a faux suede outer with fuzzy fur bonded on the inside. Its a really high quality type though, it feels furry and soft...not plastic like some I've looked at in the fabric store. The colour is a nice chocolate brown, I think I will do some dark red decorative stitching up with seams. I'm kinda considering couching lucet cord over the seams actually. It will be nice to have a warm coat, I am tired of cloaks constantly slipping off my shoulders and tangling about my legs. Those things have it in for me I tell ya.
Next projects on the list:
-A cap to go with apron dress.
-A Burgundian gown, this one will be finicky. That's probably why I didn't start it first!
-I also have some really nice sky blue fabric I am considering making into a Moy Gown. Orrr
perhaps another Burgundian. A dark red kirtle underneath would look pretty spiffy.
-New pants for Seth.
-New shirts for Seth x2.
-New favour for Seth.
I also plan to try my hand at making some period(esque) shoes. This one should be fun, I haven't yet tried leatherwork.
