Busy!
I cannot in good conscience complain about having two jobs, as I directly asked for and hoped for and wished for this situation, and I know it stands in sharp contrast to what others are experiencing. And in fact I don't want to complain, but just note for the record that I'm very busy and if anyone feels they're not seeing me/reading me/interacting with me as much, that is probably why.
The two jobs also contrast for me VERY nicely why exactly I am on this path to switch to a far less "lucrative" career.
Anyway!
Stranger Things on Netflix, which is a really great/fun/creepy/involving show if you're into that sort of thing. I will probably finish the 8-episode series within a week and a half of starting it, which for me is binge-watching.
I didn't hear how bad the floods in Ellicott City really were until the next morning. It was heartbreaking to see, but I am glad that the worst of it was property destruction and not loss of life. It is very sad that two people were killed but watching that footage, and knowing how many water rescues were successful, I know it could have been much worse. Sigh.
Sunday, workday! Up for church, then recruiting to teach in the fall, then a meeting with the staff for the 9th grade class, then lunch, then back to the office to start making up calendars and class schedules. Eventually around 5:30 p.m. I knocked off and went home and had dinner and watched one more episode of the show and went to bed.
And here I am! Busy week ahead... Grateful, but bracing and being mindful of my energy levels.
