The cry arises, "Let us outta here!"

There's something about a gray, rainy Friday. You're not thrilled about being at work - the weekend is so close you can taste it, you've been working hard all week, not getting enough sleep, getting bogged down the way you always seem to, but freedom is near. As long as those gray clouds hover, even on a Friday, there's a certain sense of acceptance. "Well, it's not like people are outside having tons of fun," you can say to yourself as you hunch over your spreadsheets. "We're all stuck in here together," you can think as you try not to think too hard about what that patina of ooze on top of your coffee might be.

But on a formerly-rainy Friday? When it's been rainy or cloudy all week, including all last weekend? And it is now partly-sunny, big-puffy-clouds and 68-everlovin'-degrees outside? The collective subconscious of the workforce around here has just raised up and shouted, "GET US THE HELL OUT OF HERE!"

So I'm gonna take a walk. Just a short one. I swear. I'll be right back...

work, friday, weather
