new!

I got a new badge holder thingie at work! The plastic sleeve my badge rides around in was grotty and had a tendency to pick up poppy seeds every Friday. Also it was ripping. So I got a new one of those, and a new zippy-pull thingie to stretch it out to reach the card-readers. I am made much happier by this than is strictly rational.

Breszny day!

Pisces Horoscope for week of October 2, 2008

Pisces (February 19-March 20)
Blessings will come if you cultivate as much stillness as possible. I'm not just talking about reducing the noise levels, although that's a good first step. Other things you might want to do: Cut way down on your use of the phone; text-message sparingly; surf the Internet 70 percent less than usual; avoid watching TV news altogether; and don't hang around people whose minds zip around like chimps on meth. As for your own monkey mind: See if you can enjoy some periods each day when the monkey gets to lie down in a soft place and watch the wide sky roll by.

Oop ack!

Guitar lesson was good last night, and I made it home before the Raging Storm Clouds of Death opened up and drenched the place. The storm view from the 9th floor remains impressive. Oz, for a change, did not hide under the bed! He hid under the chair. Variety is the spice of life!

Last night,
"Adverse Events"

First off, YAY, Breckin Meyer! He's awesome. I liked this one. It was very interesting to me that they did an entire episode without even a mention of Wilson, but I think it's probably a good idea. It makes it seem more like he's actually gone, not just waiting in the wings ready for his next cue. Once again, the medical mystery itself had me lost at first, but I don't really care about that. The Taub stuff was fascinating! I really like Taub! Has interacting with House really caused him to reassess his whole marriage? Fascinating.

As for the whole Lucas/Cuddy thing, interesting. I'm not sure I see where those two characters have much chemistry, but it's neat to see her interacting with someone who's not House. Also, that guy they have playing Lucas looks really, really young for her, but hey. There's nothing wrong with that. And for the love of God, it'd be nice if Cuddy finally got a little romantic attention one of these days.

The music-playing at the end was awesome.

How sad that the previews, announcing that on the next episode we learn that House's father has passed away, mean that R. Lee Ermey will never guest star on the show again.

It doesn't really deserve a cut of its own, because I am not going to say much, or anything spoilery, but I do continue to enjoy Fringe. That creepy bald guy has potential. I still find Agent Dunham the weakest character in the show, which is annoying since she's central, but so far it's not really detracting from the general fun sense of the show overall.
