Before I blather about the snow and the various commutes, allow me to share what
Rob has to say today:
Pisces Horoscope for week of February 15, 2007
I believe you're climbing up out of the primordial ooze for the last time. You're done! Never again will you be fully immersed in the stinky depths of hell on earth! Never again will moody despair comprise more than 49 percent of your worldview. From now on, you will be smarter about how to avoid unnecessary pain and misery. You will also be a better escape artist. Now go buy yourself a graduation present.

Ooh! Alas, funds are too low and roads too messy to buy myself a graduation present just today. Maybe this weekend! In Nashville!

The drive home yesterday took about two hours, but that's including the fifteen minutes I had to wait just to get out of the parking lot. When the Federal Gov't shuts down early, everyone leaves at once and it gets a little nuts. I took the back way and the roads weren't great, but at least I was moving for half the trip, and not in stop-and-go traffic the entire time. And it was still better than the three hours on Monday night so...
Driving in this morning was much worse than I expected, road-conditions-wise. Considering how far ahead they knew about this storm, no one seemed to be in a big hurry to plow or treat the roads. I got up at 5 a.m. and fed the cats. The OPM Status Line was busy, so I kept trying, and finally by 5:15 a.m. I was crawling back into bed with confirmation that we had a two-hour delay. Yay! I didn't exactly drop right back to sleep, but still getting that extra bit really did help. I got up around 7:00, got my breakfast and packed a lunch, and went out to chip out the car. I saw Extra and heard Little Dude when I went over with food. Poor cold kitties. Chipping the car out took fifteen minutes or so. I had a problem yesterday on the way home with my wipers icing up, so I took special care with them and had no problems on the way in. I did in fact get to work on time, at 9:30. And everyone but our temp made it in, eventually.

Last night,
"Insensitive"
Le awesome! Cuddy had a blind date! Foreman broke up with Wendy! House really was LITERALLY drawn to the no-pain-feeling girl, for like clinical reasons! And he didn't press the spinal nerve biopsy anyway! He and Wilson went for breakfast! Wilson's "tired of being your conscience" and just wants to gossip! Chase and Cameron hookup! (Those crazy kids.) And the promo monkeys pull out all the freak stops for the next show. And Dave Matthews! Oh FOX. Two more weeks with no new House, alas. I can't wait!
