It's funny, you see Sheryl Lee and think Laura Palmer, and I think Helga from Mother Night. Of course I saw Mother night YEARS ago and just finally saw Twin Peaks sometime last year. I agree with the whole timing issue about the ego stuff. Plus isn't totally against Cuddy's character to do something so un-ethical. Of course one could ask isn't it un-ethical to staff someone who constantly does un-ethical things?
I was a Twin Peaks freak from day one, so yeah, that's who Sheryl Lee will always be, in some corner of my mind.
Cuddy staffs him (or continues to) at least partially due to her own guilt over the debridement procedure after his infarction (that Stacy got her to do). House is right about Cuddy - she does operate a lot on guilt. She let Wilson persuade her because she is terrified of doing something else to hurt House, and I think that's why she ultimate did have to tell him anyway - she could see how it was hurting him.
There were two things I loved about this episode: 1. Cameron's idea for finding the "alien" cells being the way to go 2. Foreman's figuring out that Cameron's behavior was indicative of something bigger.
These two things show that the characters are actually growing and learning from House. The way Foreman talked out his thought processes and took apart Cameron's behavior was _classic_ House.
Um, hello, didn't you love Chase's "yo momma" joke? =)
I love the subtle stuff happening with Foreman - he's picking up stuff from House, he's wondering how much is left to take from House knowledge-wise, but he's got to still be recovering/unsure after his lingering neurological problems from last season. (Why else was House doing the brain stuff and not Foreman, the neurologist?)(Which begs the question why wasn't an actual neurosurgeon doing it, but this is TV land after all.)
I honestly, honestly forgot about it until someone on TWoP reminded me of it. I really do think I blocked it out for my sanity. When I saw the needle and the eye I dove between the couch cushions and was screaming "Damn you, House!" until it was over. I guess they found out FOX would let them get away with eye trauma, and it's the most gross bang for their buck, so they keep bringing it back!
