Blah on a blah cracker

Well... I thought the difficulties of moving in were the worst things I'd have to face at the start of this semester but it turns out I have another problem that blows the standard crud away like (insert inappropriate Hurricane Katrina reference here). My desktop decided to fizzle out and stop booting up soon after classes started, leaving me to either beg computer time off of faechylde (like I'm doing now), or use a computer cluster (and I'm still not sure if I can access the grad center's cluster). I'm just glad I have no papers to write or any research to do any time soon. And although it's really annoying not to have internet and PC games at my disposal, there is a bright side. It's an excuse to buy a new laptop! I'm price comparing right now... the campus computer store is willing to build me a Gateway for $1750 which features an Intel Pentium M 1.86 Ghz chip. The sales pitch I got was that it's designed for laptops, uses less battery power, and actually runs at a speed closer to 2.5 Ghz. Suffice to say, I'm skeptical. Has anyone heard anything about those things?
Did the SCA demo today, exhausted myself more than I thought, but had fun overall. I just wish it didn't throw off my body clock so much. Might post pictures if I get any from my fencing coach. Other than that, nothing interesting. I am back in classes after all- that's boredom city. Hope everyone else is having more fun than me.
