My life imitates your songs

I have this strange fascination with guitars. I just love everything about them, how they look, how they feel and of course how they sound. I have this tendency to fall in love with boys who play them, mezmerized by every chord, every strum, every fret, only later realizing I really love the guitar and not the boy. A while ago I decided I want to play, but never did anything about it. The thought resurfaces every so often but I leave it unfufillled every time, always with an excuse at the ready. But today, for no reason at all, I went downstairs and opened the dust caked case and sat there just holding my brother's long unplayed guitar. It felt so good. I think I'm finally going to follow through on this.

Insight of the day: "Imagine you're a forty-year-old...and suddenly someone comes up to you saying, 'Hi, I'd like you to meet Kevin. Kevin is eighteen and will be making all your career decisions for you...that's what life is all about- some eighteen-year-old kid making your big decisions for you that stick for a lifetime." - Douglas Coupland "Girlfriend in a Coma"
