havent updated in quite awhile....been very busy with school and work. this week is actually extremely lax school wise, which is really nice because im becoming really burned out. i can't WAIT for the summer. i need a break desperately. plus, i'll be moving in the summer and that will be a welcome change. life is pretty monotonous at the moment but i suspect it will be picking up soon, what with looking at apartments, getting ready to move, anticipating the return of ben to richmond (yay). im doing really well in school (knock on wood) and i hope i can keep it up until the semester is over. scheduling is becoming a problem at the moment because the forensics dept keeps changing it curriculum and telling me i MUST take specific classes and the last semester they are being offered is next semester, but oh yeah, they are only offering it at one time as opposed to the three times they were originally offering it. and this one time conflicts with the organic 2 class i need to take next semester, which would eliminate me from being eligible to take organic 2 lab and but me behind another semester. so no way am i ruining all that just for some stupid lab that they are taking out of the cirriculum after next semester. they can eat a dick.
im so hyped about moving in with ben. this long distance thing for the past couple of years has been really hard on us and im so sick of it. it will be so nice to be able to get a new place, have ben back and start our real life together. plus it will be nice to split rent with someone haha.
we are actually looking at a place a block from where i am now, which is ironic because we had planned on moving to the fan. however, this place looks to be a steal. its a one bedroom, but its brand newly renovated within the past year, has free parking and just looks awesome (not that the way it looks is necessarily a necessity, but it cant hurt, and being recently renovated will obviously cut down on any potential maintainence problems, which is a major issue considering our other options are the older buildings in the fan). Also, it is in a decent area and has a new security system, which will definately please my mother who is really concerned about safety issues in the fan. still only a block from where i work (even though i hate my job). and closer to downtown for ben, who will potentially be getting a job down there. so it all sounds pretty good, though price may be an issue because we will be paying our utilities which is a new prospect for both ben and i. But ive been researching, and depending on the whether the place is all electric or a combo of gas and electric, ive gotten some estimates from people on average bills. all electric seems to fall around 100$, less in the summer, more in the winter. Electric/gas tends to be very low on the electric side (50-70$) and potentially ridiculous on the gas side (if you dont watch your temp levels, esp during the winter). but really, i think we can swing it, especially if everything is electric (which im hoping for). so thats all pretty exciting.
had a really nice time in charlottesville this past weekend (i know i know, how do you have a nice time in charlottesville? sort of impossible). Benand i just generally spent some time together. on saturday we went up to james monroes house near monticello and that was pretty nice, though the weather wasnt that awesome. saturday evening we staying in, drank a bottle of wine and watched shine, which was actually an excellent movie. sunday we just kind of lazed around, the weather was horrible and so going out wasnt really an option unless we were going shopping at the ridiculously crowded shopping centers in c-ville (which i hate doing). we did go out to eat at chili's though, which was pretty great because its probably the first real meal ive (pseudo-)eaten in almost three weeks (had my wisdom teeth out over spring break and it was a nightmare, has been taking forever to heal and im still not completely recovered). later on sunday i went and visited the parents since it was easter and everything (whatever, completely disillusioned by christianity right now(but thats a whole OTHER post)).
anyway, this week is going alright because of the little work i have to do, but im still looking forward to the weekend.
