Checking Out in the Boat Lane
When we lived on the Gulf Coast some years ago, we learned to our surprise, that a local grocery store had a "boat lane check out". This was the lane of choice for those who were buying several grocery carts full of groceries before going out into the Gulf for an extended length of time.
I remember gawking at all the carts people would check out at a time and though it was a novelty to me, it same old same old to the locals.
Now that my daughter and her husband living with us for a time, I couldnt help but think of the boat lane as I got my groceries this evening. I am definitely doing more grocery shopping these days.
