Book shopping

I'm trying to spend Christmas present money on Amazon, and note that there's lots and lots of Roald Dahl on sale. Funny thing is, I've never liked reading Dahl in English. It has to be in Norwegian. Possibly because I read so much Dahl as a child.

I was sorely tempted to buy a book by someone called Anita Diamant, but managed to keep it out of the basket. Still, it's a wonderful pen name (yes, I refuse to believe the author is actually called that).

Forgot to mention that a rather unfortunate discussion of crime novels on the office Christmas party made the director force-loan me a book - Elizabeth George's What Came Before He Shot Her. I didn't really want to read it, but I suppose I'll have to give it a try. I like George, but I'm not particularly interested in this one.

Anyway. Ordered Russell Hoban's Riddley Walker, Steven Saylor's The Judgement of Caesar and the new translation of Yevgeny Zamyatin's We. Couldn't for the life of me find anything else I wanted, which is what usually occurs when I have money to spend and too much to choose from.
