The kids were in my bedroom. I walked across the hall to get Bennett some underwear from his room. I heard a THUD. Like.... large piece of furniture thud. No time to think, I raced back and saw our huge new dresser tipped over, the small drawers dumped out. No sign of Bennett. No whimper. No cry. Astrid was sitting just - JUST - out of reach, with the small drawers all around her. I yelled 'BENNETT!!' in that 'I'm freaking out but trying not to freak out' yell. I lifted the dresser up, but couldn't lift it all the way. A little head peeked out. 'I'm being brave, mama!' All bright and cheery. Not a scratch. Not a tear.
Adam raced upstairs as fast as he could and helped me lift the dresser. Bennett had pulled out every single drawer at once. We had a lesson in physics in this morning.
