Steve flew up and visited for the weekend. Stayed at Larkspur hotel near the airport, made dinner there and hung out, relaxed and watched movies and did internet stuff and a little work. Stayed in on Saturday since it was all rainy, which was perfect since we planned to stay in anyway. Picked up groceries, got snacks, watched football and later got dinner at a very tasty Italian place not far from the hotel, in a tiny little town area/ main drag. Enjoyed the wonderful sunny, fall weather on Sunday. And then took Steve to the airport, that afternoon.

I'm looking forward to going home to visit the fam for the Thanksgiving holiday and then seeing Steve again for Christmas next month. Crazyness! Christmas is next month. That seems so odd. Mostly because I'm in CA and the seasons max out at summer and fall for the most part, so visually it doesn't seem much like "Christmas time".

And being in the holiday spirit, I've come up with a decoration idea for a wall of our apartment that should work for all holiday decorations. I wanted to buy some pretty ornaments, but I just can't spend money on that sort of thing right now, in good conscience. It would be impractical and unnecessary. So I decided I could make some custom ornaments that looked just as nice and perhaps more arty and cool. I figured I'd get some brass tacks (to match the brass and wood scheme of our apartment) and make some ornaments out of Sculpey, paint them and hang them from the tacks on the wall with a bit of sewing thread ( or fishing wire if I have any).

That way they can be flat on one side and lay against the wall in a more decorative way. Adriana likes the idea of decorating the apartment for the holidays so I think it'll be a fun and relaxing thing to do in our spare moments.
