Velvet Goldmine, and Todd Haynes, and Ewan with JRM...

Dec 12, 2007 23:10

Instead of feeling miserable alone at home with my bad cold and because it feels like everyone but me will get to see Othello, I thought I'd share here again a great time I had recently. If you're on my flist and read my posts, pass your way, you've already seen it all ;)

As this year comes quickly to an end, I can say that ( one of the best things that happened to me in 2007 )

I almost made it when muffinprincess1 alerted us about the places that had suddenly appeared... Well, considering I'm coughing my lungs and blowing my nose constantly, it's rather a good thing for everyone that I didn't get a ticket for tomorrow ;)

Thanks sweetie *hugs back*

This time was a great opportunity as I was off work already. Don't mind me, I'm just getting awfully jealous when I read that some of you will get to see it more than once ;)

I think it's a bit better today. I'll be totally right to go back to work ;D

It sure sounds like you had a most enjoyable viewing of Velvet Goldmine.
I had read that Ewan was supposed to "moon" the crowd, but that he went a step further and did the whole frontal nudity thing, and they left it in the film.

Thanks for sharing your experience, and I hope you will feel better real
soon!!!

It was a great time, such a colourful movie is made to be seen on a big screen ! Not to mention the music, so much louder than you can listen to it in an apartment ;) unless you don't mind having bad relationships with all your neighbours...

Yes, you're right, Ewan was only supposed to moon the audience, but he went a big step further, for our collective pleasure :D

You're welcome, and thank you too for your nice words, Char !

You are welcome too. I never got to see VG on the big screen. I think it would be appreciated even more to see it that way, like Moulin Rouge.

I forgot to say how much I like the wallpapers too. Excellent!!

My best related memory of Ewan for 2007 is -----
Not just one thing, but every thing that Ewan did this year for our viewing pleasure, like LWD, and for those films that he did in 2007 that we haven't seen yet.

Moulin Rouge was such an enchantment on the big screen, and that's exactly the same with VG. As for the walls, you're welcome :)

Look who's cheating here, not choosing one thing but all of them ! Bad Char ! ;)

:( Hope you feel better soon.
Great wallpapers :) I was happy to see trailers for JRM's latest movie [August Rush] but I haven't had a chance to see it yet.

Hmmm... best 2007 Ewan event, following the progress of LWD on the BBC site.

Thanks ! ;)

I read JRM was great in The Tudors but I haven't watched the series yet. And yes, it was really interesting to be able to follow LWD along with them.

I managed to catch a couple of episodes of The Tudors, I really liked it. I imagine it will be available on DVD sometime, hope you get a chance to see it. :D

It was nice to follow along with LWD, felt like going on the trip with them.

I don't know what you're talking about, in fact I don't even know you ;)

What, not even Miss Potter on the Canadian screens this year ?

nope, saw Miss Potter in Santa Fe with Patty, then in UK with Sue and Clara... didn't have a chance to see it here, it only played at one cinema downtown for maybe 2 wks and I couldn't go... i work most weekends and can't go there in the week ;(

so no Ewan on the big screen at all for me in 2007. No wonder I'm miserable!! *je blague*
