Today really sucked! First off, I had two major tests, one in World Civ. and one in Adv. Alg. 2. I think I did well on my math test b/c I really like math... but my World Civ. test went to hell I believe. I really don't like social studies/history to begin with so that doesn't help. I know I got at least a 50% on it. Though that's still failing. I'll find out tomorrow I guess. So then, school ends and we (the v-ball) team get ready to leave for Ballardsville for our 5:30 game. We always get one of the really old busses that suck... you know the ones. So we're going down the interstate and the bus starts to swerve and it seems even bumpier than usual. Then there's a strong smell of burnt rubber... we had a flat tire. It's quite nerve-racking when all these semis are flying past us and bus shakes. So about 15-20 minutes later a new bus comes and picks us up, then we hit traffic. We were quite late when we got there. We started playing and well... lost. The thing that hurt us most was our serving. We lost quite a few points from bad serves. I'm quite proud of everyone though, b/c we all worked really hard. I kind of hurt my wrist/palm of my hand from the first game. I dove to get a ball and landed on my hands quite hard. It's still a wee bit sore but I'll live. The varsity didn't do much better either. They ended up losing both games also. After both games I went up to Coach Weires and shook his hand to say good job. He couldn't drive back with us on the bus because he drove alone after work. He always makes me feel better. Oh, after the JV game I went up to my parents and had a breakdown. I had been holding it in since the math test. It all just came out then. So, all in all, the day sucked! But then I came home, turned on the TV and saw all the devastation down south. It doesn't make my day look nearly as bad. So I guess I'm ending my post with a prayer for all those that have been affected by this mass tragedy. Good luck to everyone and my thoughts and prayers are with all of you!
