I don't know why I've been updating lately. I don't know if updating is the right word for what I do.

Since I m posessed of the desire to put up an entry, but lack any significant developments to write about, I will talk about a World of Warcraft plugin called Auctioneer, and how I will eventually control the economy of the Archimonde server (one of the biggest until recently, when everyone moved to Mug'thol).

All the plugin really does is scan and store all of the auctions put up on the auction house (exactly what it sounds like -- players sell shit to eachother for gold) in a database, allowing one to look at average prices and stuff. So, all I do is search for auctions put up by other people that have significantly lower than average buyout prices, and then put them back up for something closer to average, producing instant, free profit.

That's cool, you say, nice way to make gold, but how will you control the economy of the server doing that? It's just like in the real world. When I've compounded enough money (which may not take too long, as my money close to doubles every five days or so so far) I can start cornering the market on some items. For example, for a few hours I'll watch the auction house and buy up all of the mageweave cloth or whatever and repost it for twice what it's worth. Not only will I be selling cloth for twice its value, but everyone who needs mageweave will have to buy from me. On a larger scale, I can control the market in high-level items by buying out all of them I can and setting my own price, which is the ultimate goal. I'm really going for a kind of cyber-racketeering thing. This is more fun than levelling. There is no anti-trust in Archimonde.
