From what I've heard, many of the signatories are planning on simply providing adapter cables, and those would mostly be power-only (not data or audio).

On the good side, these adapters will likely be available in the US as well. On the bad side, they'll probably charge as much as the current power adapters for them, and you'll still need proprietary cables for anything beyond charging.
