» Rules:
Basically there are only three rules:oo1. First thing's first, please respect everyone involved with the community. There is absolutely no need for bashing, flaming, or treating anyone else with disrespect. This community thrives on the difference of opinions of it's members and friendly debate. Anything else will not be tolerated.
oo2. For those of you who are reviewers, when filling out the movie review forms [which can be found
here] try your best to make your review honest, fair and legible. Everyone makes typos and forgets correct grammar from time to time, but I expect you to at least attempt a well-written review.
This means no TyPiNg LiKe DiS, or abuse of internet shorthand [OMGZ liek the main char. wuz so hawt!!11].
oo3. If you have applied to be a member, and have been recently approved: please immediately read the
Welcome Post before you do anything else. It explains the community, the member's roles and may answer any questions you may have regarding how everything works.
» FAQs:
Q: So what exactly is this community about?
A:
evryonesacritic is here to provide people with an assortment of varied movie reviews and recommendations written by real people.
We are here to try and help others who are interested in film, to avoid wasting their time with crappy cinema, and instead discover new and far better alternatives.
Our staff is a compilation of very bright and wonderful people with a variety of different opinions. We offer visitors an assortment of reviews to help paint a more complete picture of the movie[s] in question.
Q: Who's reviewing these movies, and why should I care what they think?
A: Obviously if you have ended up here and are reading this. you are at least somewhat interested in finding a reliable place to go to help you find new and interesting [and on some occasions to avoid] movies. So despite the fact that there really is no reason why you should care what we think, there is a good chance you might find some of what we have to say interesting...
As far as the who is concerned, each of the reviewers on our staff has a short little
bio posted. These are here to help give visitors a basic idea of who is writing the reviews, and maybe discover someone that they can identify with.
Q: What makes this community so special?
A: For one thing, the reviewers are normal people like you and me, instead of critics who tend to over-analyze and be partial to more mainstream films.
For another, the amount of compiled reviews from different perspectives provides the reader with a more objective view of the picture[s].
In addition to those reasons, those people who serve as reviewers will be provided with a copy of the movies waiting to be critiqued [if available]. This way, they are able to easily view and judge what they have seen without having the hassle of trying to get their hands on the movies themselves.
Q: How do I submit a review?
A: In order to submit your own review[s] to
evryonesacritic, you first need to become an approved member of the staff. To do this, one must
apply.
