it spread like some horrendous, incurable disease. it all started when jaejoong cornered yunho in their dorm, prodding the leader so hard in the chest a little, round, purple bruise formed a couple of hours after, something yunho never fails to use against jaejoong.
"what do you think you're doing," jaejoong hissed, his face all up in yunho's. yunho winced.
"i was gonna ask changmin out, but i guess that's not a very good idea..?" yunho squeaked, voice trailing off into the dark abyss that is jaejoong's fury.
jaejoong snorted and took a step back. "you're damn right it's not a good idea."

a day and three hours after his encounter with jaejoong, yunho found himself trapped in a car with yoochun. he tugged on doorhandles, pounded on windows, and yet, no one came to his rescue. gulping, yunho pulled his knees up to his chest and waited for yoochun's outburst.
nothing came. well, no outburst came.
"hyung," yoochun started, all soft and buttery, and yunho made a face. "hyung, you have to realize that changmin's still very young, and if you do what you want to do, you might… harm him."
yunho gave yoochun a look that stated something along the lines o are-you-mental-that-boy-is-more-mature-than-the-rest-of-you-combined. yoochun sighed and slumped back in his seat, simultaneously landing on the unlock button of the car. yunho hit yoochun on the head before escaping.

a mere eight hours after yoochun's abduction of him, as yunho liked to call it, junsu took it upon himself to hoist yunho out of the dorm and up onto the roof. yunho freaked out, swatted at junsu, and demanded, "OH MY GOD ARE YOU TRYING TO KILL ME? I DON'T WANT TO DIE, OH MY GOD."
"what th shit, hyung," junsu yelled, and pushed yunho down onto his butt. "i just needed a place where i could talk to you without changmin hearing me."
"oh not this again," yunho groaned, and stomped the ground with his feet. junsu raised an eyebrow, pursed his lips, and sat down beside yunho.
"what i have to say is different. i say, do it."
yunho hugged junsu so tight that junsu had to jam his knee into yunho's nuts to get yunho to let him go. yunho still had a smile on his face after that, albeit together with the presence of teary eyes.

the unknown is a very horrible thing, yunho thinks, as he hobbles back into their dorm, junsu right in front of him. junsu pats him on the shoulder and does a little twirl before sliding into the seat between jaejoong and yoochun on the couch. giving yunho a little mischievous wink, junsu slings both arms around his hyungs, and yunho takes the chance to launch forward, pull changmin to his feet off the floor, and manhandle him into his room.
yunho tries to look at changmin who's half-sprawled across his bed. he can only imagine how confused the younger's feeling right now, but of course, yunho's brain doesn't want him to have the easy way out. naturally, yunho starts blabbering.
"i like disney movies," yunho says, ducking his head ever lower and attempting to use his bangs to obscure his face. changmin doesn't say anything.
"i like butter cookies and being tucked in. i like ponies but i hate horses. is that logical? i like comedians but i hate clowns. um. i like dancing. um. i… i like hearts and candles."
right then and there, his brain decides to take a little trip down confession lane.
"i once tried to make you a heart out of 300 candles but that didn't work cause the wind was too strong and it's crazy trying to go around lighting 300 freaking candles with a box of matches and jaejoong found out and he went batshit crazy when he found out what i was doing and why i was doing it so i stopped and he --"
"hyung," changmin says, warm and kind and yunho really just wants to bury his face in changmin's neck.
"so yeah, um, i reall really ike you."
changmin takes in how low yunho's head in and loses the fight he was having with his smile. sliding off the bed, changmin pads over to yunho and kisses him on the crown of his head. yunho jumps, changmin giggles, and yunho smiles like there's nothing else brighter in the world.
