For the most part, I'm not digging this battle for the cowl jig. But, this oneshot of Gotham's most infamous asylum director, I TOTALLY dig.
We start of with Jeremiah Arkham coming back to his asylum in shambles. Then he takes use through a nostalgic look back at some of his patients(Zsasz, Scarecrow, Poison Ivy ect..)and what happened to him before the destruction of the asylum. Then, we see him talk about a few new characters(non-violent). All stories about these new and less aggressive characters are told beautifully and fairly grounded. After that, he comes to solitary confinement or "the place were beauty lies" were he meets those same patients from his reflection.Relieved to see them and inspired by his uncle's(Amadeus)plans for the asylum, Jeremiah sets of with his group of misfits and on a new path for Arkham Asylum.
The writting is great, David Hine did a great job on Jeremiah and introducing the three new patients. The art is fine, nothing special. It's a definite pick up, though I wish they'll do a follow up or something.
