Counting my blessings

I could not afford a Miu Miu handbag, but my DKNY bag of 4 years ain't too shabby.

I could not afford a Honda Jazz, but at least my 8 year old Kembara comes free from my family and is serving me well.

I could not afford a serviced apartment, but I have a place of my own that is for my perusal (along with the loans and whatnot X_X).

I could not afford to eat out a lot, but I guess that's where my cooking skills come in and there's always decent home-cooked meals on the table.

I could not afford to study overseas, but hey, getting into one of the top public Mass Communications schools in Malaysia ain't too bad at all.

I may not be a 4 flat student, but getting Second-Class Upper is no easy feat either.

I may not have the best figure, but Allah ciptakan badanku sempurna, tiada cacat cela Alhamdulilah.

I may not possess a perfect complexion, but I've found someone who loves me beyond the skin.

I have yet to travel Europe or any other exotic locales, but I'll never forget those awesome long vacations of discovering Australia and Hong Kong.

I may not be insanely rich and successful, but at least I am never in the red for debt and I have my small moments of triumph.

I may not be able to buy a gaming console on a whim, but years of training have taught me to differentiate between wants and needs and online games that comes for free.

I may not be in the upper crust of society, but I was privileged enough to receive education that allows me to break free from poverty.

I may be unemployed and reduced to domestic work, but there are many other job opportunities waiting for me when I return from my month long hiatus.

I may wish for a lot of things at times, but really, what more could I wish for at this point of life?

25, bitter at times but feeling very thankful for how life's been treating me. I know it could be different should I walk another path; but if I do, then I'll never learn what it means that life is really worth living.
