Episode 2! (watch for falling spelling)

Aug 14, 2009 22:18

Welcome back, small audience! Once again I apologize for the delay. Moving on!

The Heroic Legend of Arislan p. 1 (and 3&4 on another tape I haven't gotten to yet.)
Arislan is quite simply, your classic medieval war story. While the prince is fighting on the battlefield, the traitorious general overthrows the king. Now, the last loyal general has been demoted to foot solider and runs after the prince to help him escape the traps on the battlefield. They meet up with new and old friends and infiltrate a city to find out what's going on. Meanwhile there are a few scenes with a humorous bard which are fun. I enjoied this one and am looking forward to parts three and four (yes I'm missing part two).

Sum-up: An hour long part one of six (damn I'm missing half of it). The animation is nice with a hint from the official FFV art. Made in 1992 and English dubbed. A nice change of pace from magic filled wars, this one is pretty down to earth with swords and arrows. OK there was one guy who could see the present through a crystal ball, but he was tired and told the other guy to come back later... X)
Non-mine synopsis

Gasaraki ep 7, 8 & 9 (10-15 are still on my shelf)
(it's been like a week since I watched this one so it's a bit hazy)Oh geez did it suck to start on episode seven, I know I'm trying to get people interested but I can't lie about this one. It's a mech anime so some polical BS was expected, but the whole "first" episode was pretty much that. Starting out by locking the team of pilots in a room is not cool (even they complain about it [I think they're in there the whole tape]). Then the political guys complain about the horriffic war we missed in the first six episodes, I would've fallen asleep but at the end of the scene one guy says something that makes another one gasp and the music goes dunDUN! o_o Anyway, ep 8 picks up better with an infiltration mission, and a kid who wonders who the hell he is and why he's there. Ep 9 has him jumping into a very demonic looking "mech"(?) while a traumatized girl has flashbacks to it causing some war (but not nesisarily the one we missed). It's wierd cause I think the demonic mech is the important main one, but here it was buried and sealed in episode nine...

Sum-up: Another mech anime that's giving me that Evangelion feeling (I think I just want to see that again). (if I had a scanner I would throw some odd box art up here) Uhm, made in 1998, English dubbed. Haven't watched the other two tapes yet, but if I ever do, I probably won't watch this fist one again without the episodes before it.
Non-mine synopsis

Once again, if you're interested, you may partake. Arislan I wouldn't mind keeping. Sorry I was a bit harsh on Gasaraki, it had the misfortune of being the first "non volume 1" out of everything I've got. (expect more T_T)

One More for the Road
Ooh an interesting one: Spawn! the animated movie apparently made in '97.
Uh, I donno if it's for sale... My roomate got kinda excited over it, so he'll have first dibbs on that one. We'll start the bidding at...! ^_^
