So... after 7 days with absolutely no progress in NaNoWriMo this year, I think I have to face the fact that it is just not going to happen. ^.^;
It isn't so much that it's hard to write, although I couldn't object, were someone to imply that was one of the reasons. More, it's that I'm sitting here, going, "...A month ago I knew I could write this. Now, every time I think of the story, I see only empty void."
So. I think I have to officially shelve the story idea until next year. ^.^;
And, see, 'cause it's not even just "I can't motivate myself to start it today." Apparently, this year my November is geared more visually. ^.^;
As evidenced by the fact that I have a new icon for the first time in six months. ^.^;
See? I can motivate myself to start stuff, just not my NaNo story.
Um, and if you're a Firefly fan... what can I say about my new icon? XD You know I'm a slash girl at heart, no matter how much I (oddly, for someone who normally hates het) love the Zoe/Wash canonical pairing. So now I have the pretty Mal/Wash pairing in my icon. ^.^ That's right - a fandom icon that doesn't have any Backstreet Boys. I know, it's weird, I'm usually so very very themed, but come on. How could I resist? XD
(Super geek note: I had a certain idea of how the text had to look, but no such text on my computer, so I typed it out, then zoomed in to 400% and randomly erased or semi-erased a few dots on each letter. ^.^; I don't think it looks too bad, although Mal seems to be doing a much better job of hiding than Wash is. ^.^; )
