El peligro

I was thinking about danger lately, and the things that human beings do to purposefully put themselves in danger.

Some people enjoy skydiving or bungee-jumping. Some, like my husband, would like to do one of those things someday. Some people participate in extreme sports.

I don't have any interest in skydiving or doing stunts on a motor scooter. My idea of exciting danger is to wrestle an alligator. I suppose it would be the most cautious form of danger if I really did it, because I wouldn't want to take any chances of actually dying or losing a limb. I'd want an expert handy to help me stay safe. I would either work on a small gator myself or work with a team on a bigger one. I could also escalate the danger by taking on a saltwater crocodile. Those are much more aggressive than the "mild-mannered" American Alligator. Anyway, it seems like it would be worth some bumps, bruises and even sprains to work with a wild animal (some animals can be domesticated, but gators and crocs will always be wild). I'm sure I could think of a handful of other somewhat dangerous animals to work with as my version of skydiving. :)
