I developed these from a disposable camera I took in Baja, Mexico.
This is the first stop Dan makes to surf. We never camp here though because it costs money and there are lots of tourist types partying.
I think these are the same kittens I saw here when I was here a couple months ago in June.
Final Destination! This is our own little private beach. Let's say 100 miles south of Ensenada? Then you have to take this super rocky dirt road for like 25 miles to get there. I think that's one of the reasons no one comes here and around here except the surfers. That's Cara (Andy's wife) trying to take pictures of the boys surfing.
The black dot surfing is Dan and the other black dot waiting to surf is Andy. Disposable cameras lack zoom.
An attempt to catch dinner.
I made a cake for you!
The ocean water was really cold at this beach so I would just bathe in the little tide pools because they were warm. Since it was still water the sun could heat them up. I kept cracking mussels open with rocks so I could feed the insides to the hermit crabs. It was cool watching them go nuts.
Lots of stray dogs.
I thought this dog was really old, but the man who was carrying him around said he was only three. He was just sick. The dogs don't get vaccinated I'm sure.
I made a mermaid in the sand. I used kelp for the tail, various sea plants/weeds for the hair, and my favorite is the white shell eyes complete with black pebble pupils.
One place Dan stopped to surf.
Some people would come down to try to harvest something? mussels? from the rocks.
The road down to our little beach.
His name was Bayo Platos Blanco because he had white socks on his back feet.
We stopped here again on the way home.
Cheshire.
View all the Baja pictures here. P.s. First day of Dapplegray Elementary tomorrow which means first day of work for me! I can't believe this will be the 3rd year. This year the staff board is Alice In Wonderland. I have to draw all the Alice characters. Last year it was super heros. I was Sailor Moon. The year before that it was jungle themed. I think I was a Dodo.
