My academic adviser just told me, "What will be best for you is what will make you most excited and happy professionally.... My advice to questions such as yours is always to focus on what you know now and decide on what interests you in the moment. You just can't predict what opportunities, or problems, may arise. I suppose I'm saying, don't over-think."
